Prof Shirley Marang Kekana

Shirley Marang Kekana received her Master’s degree in Music Education from the University of Pretoria in 2010, and currently busy with her doctoral studies at the same university. Currently, she is a music lecturer at the University of Botswana. She has been working as a teacher educator in Botswana from 2007. Shirley has also worked as a content developer for educational music programmes under the Botswana Educational Broadcasting Division. Her research interest is on early childhood music education, teacher education, music and gender and ethnomusicology. She has published a number of articles on early childhood education and teacher education. Her current project is on Early Childhood Instructional methodologies. She has been a member of PASMAE since 2013, and has presented at PASMAE Conferences. She is also a member of the International Society for Music Education.
