This chapter focuses on assessment in cross-cultural music education, based on cross-cultural understanding and dialogue, and aims to accommodate diverse forms of thinking. It introduces the measurability of African musical arts and develops a generic evaluation system based on recontextualized authenticity, implementable outside its culture of origin.
