Fete de la Musique/Make Music Day

Fete de la Musique is also known as Make Music Day and is an annual music celebration taking place on 21 June. The concept of an all-day musical celebration on the days of the solstice, was originated by the French Minister of Culture, Jack Lang. The festival later became celebrated in 120 countries around the world in 700 cities as Make Music Day. Many countries have their own website for their day.

European Choral Association (Europa Cantat)

The Europa Cantat is a non-profit association gathering organisations, choirs and individuals active in the field of collective singing in Europe. Through this network, we are in contact with more than 2.5 million individuals in over 50 countries.

Handevat Music Project

The Narrative Foundation Music development programme for young people seeks to develop young people in many ways – through the use of the recorder, guitar, marimba, classical instruments and singing. Institute for Creative Arts

The Institute for Creative Arts was formerly the Gordon Institute for Performing and Creative Arts (GIPCA), ICA was launched on 5 April 2016.  The ICA is an interdisciplinary institute in the University of Cape Town’s Humanities Faculty.

ICA facilitates new collaborative research projects, particularly in the creative and performing arts.

International Council for Traditional Music

The International Council for Tradition Music is a scholarly organisation which aims to further the study, practice, documentation, preservation, and dissemination of traditional music and dance of all countries. As a non-governmental organisation in formal consultative relations with UNESCO and by means of its wide international representation and the activities of its study groups, the International Council for Traditional Music acts as a bond among peoples of different cultures and thus contributes to the peace of humankind.

Infecting the City

Infecting the City is a collaboration between the Africa Centre and the Institute of Creative Arts, the 10th iteration of ITC was firmly focused on making Cape Town a more public city by providing a platform for a broad spectrum of artist and art forms to have a voice in what matters in this moment, with visual and performance art, dance, music, video and more from an extraordinary group of local and international artists.

Music Teachers National Association (USA)

International Journal for Music Education

The International Society for Education Through Arts (InSEA)

InSEA is a non-governmental organization and official partner of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization UNESCO). in 2018 It held a seminar in Namibia to promote InSEA in African countries.

South African Society for Research in Music

The South African Society for Research in Musicfacilitates dialogue and collaboration between all researchers in music, within and beyond academia and the promotion, fostering and dissemination of such research.

World Federation of Music Therapy
